Yagizaki Park Beside Lake Kawaguchi

Lake views and beautiful gardens

Small shrine on a tiny island in the lake

A small bridge leads to a lakeside path

Blue hills across the lake

These cherry trees must be pretty in spring

In July the hydrangeas were just beginning to fade

This very pretty park is the main venue for the Kawaguchiko Herb Festival held yearly from mid-June to mid-July, when the purple lavender is in full bloom. I visited in late July, too late for the lavender. There is a small shrine, Rokkakudo, on a tiny island just offshore, and on the west side of the park you can find Kawaguchiko Muse Museum. Yagizaki Park is a lovely place for a picnic!
