Ube City is home to one of the largest tea plantations in western Japan. Fujigochi Chaen is a tea farm located on a small hill near Lake Ono in northern Ube City. More than 90% of Yamaguchi Prefecture tea is produced here—the tea is a local taste that balances bitterness and astringency.

Visitors to Fujigochi Chaen can participate in guided tours led by local tea farmers. The tour will teach the tea-making process and the plantation’s history.
