Once a year in the summer, all Alishan staff -- and that includes staff that do not regularly work at the cafe's kitchen -- don their aprons and take up the challenge of creating delicious vegetarian and vegan dishes using select ingredients from Alishan's wide range of organic products. Alishan's riverside deck will be packed with booths offering a variety of tempting creations savory and sweet, and not normally on the cafe's menu. Prices will also be much cheaper than usual. Never heard of mung beans or aiyu jelly and don't know what to do with them? Get some ideas. The staff are more than happy to explain ways on how to incorporate more vegetarian ingredients into your diet.
